GCSU Planetarium

The International Year of Astronomy (IYA) is 2009 and GCSU is proud to present the GCSU planetarium as part of our contribution to this educational event. Now students can view digital simulations of the sky in an immersive 20 ft diameter dome view with guides, labels, and motion. The planetarium also has the ability to display full dome show content. This Digitarium Alpha 2 projector has all the abilities of a computer vs. the slide projector views of the past.

Did you know that the GCSU planetarium offers free shows to the community during GCSU's spring and fall semesters? Check our schedule to find out about the current offerings and show times. Shows are given by student members of the Astronomy club. Seating is on a first come first served basis. While waiting, take this opportunity to visit the Natural History Museum, right outside the Planetarium. We also offer special shows to groups. Just give us a call or send us an email. The Astronomy resources page contains links to our favorite astronomy pages, including resources for educators.
